There is no cross sensitivity between penicillin and tetracycline. They are not in the same family of antibiotics. Your doctor will prescribe an antibiotic based on the type of infection you have and in consideration of your known Allergies.

I believe Klaricid is Clarithromycin and is also a Macrolide and not in the family of Penicillins. So if you are not allergic to Macrolide, then it is alright to take Klaricid. Although it is still recommended to have an allergic test first before taking it.
