I am allergic to morphine as well. I can take Vicodin, Lortab, Norco etc, but at higher doses (10mg or above) I do sometimes get very slight hives on my face, but not like with morphine. Anything 10mg and below and I've had no problem. That is just my experience. That being said, I cannot take oxycodone, Percocet or any of it's derivatives as it causes MAJOR hives, itching, burning sensation, and respiratory distress. Hope this helps.

yes. You should be ok. The main ingredient in vicodin is acetaminophen also found in tylenol. Naproxen and Aleve should be avoided, sometimes things like ibuprofin can cause reactions if you are also allergic to naproxen.

Is a Vicodin allergy related to a penicillin allergy?

No, they are different medications -- vicodin is a narcotic pain killer and penicillin is an anti-biotic. An allergy to vicodin is unreleated to an allergy to penicillin. However, do not use Vicodin if you are allergic to acetaminophen (Tylenol) or hydrocodone. You should consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions regarding specific allergies to medications.
