NO, because it's not a defect. It's more like being tall or having black hair. Most humans are capable of homosexual acts, even if they choose not to do it. So if you could figure out which gene(s) caused homosexuality -- if there are such genes -- and "turned them off," you would be tinkering with almost everyone's sexuality. And who knows what would happen then? It would be like turning off "tall."
YES you could be treated for it if you were indeed born gay but you can not be born gay. Unlike above telling you its like a physical feature its not if you were born gay you could be treated for it like any other birth defect to either eliminate it or lower the effects of the birth defect. Some doctors believe it is a chemical in-balance in the brain that can be treated with medication. This in-balance happens during puberty and then is carried out threw the entire person(s) life. Hopefully one day with more research everyone who is a homosexual can be cured so that they can procreate to contribute to the human species and further the human race.
Being gay is no where near a birth defect, being a straight man or woman, would be considered that too in that case, homosexuality has been proven to be a small genetic change, it is in no way a disorder.
