Any boat will handle better if the weight is evenly distributed. The last thing you want is passengers getting uneasy and nervous because their being told to move around. That will compound the issue. If you need to move someone to keep the bow up in swells for example then do so calmly. Keep it balanced and head to a safe area ASAP.
