If you are dating an older man you met while going through a separation how do you know if its love or if you just need comfort and if he says he wants a serious relationship did he take advantage?

Mistake! Mistake! Mistake! ... Do not date while going through a separation ... this is called "rebound" and you could fall into the exact same pit as you are trying now to crawl out of. Enjoy life being free from and relationships for awhile - clear your brain, do something for just you like, take a long trip or indulge buying that new car.

You will not know "true love" until you take a considerable break from any relationship ... been there, done that ... took almost 3 years timeout myself ... it was nice being so very free from any chains ... now, happily settled into a great relationship.
