Best go cold turkey. don't contact them until you are over it. If they want to get back together they'll call you, but you contacting them isn't really helping the relationship right now. it usually helps most people if they go out and have fun sometimes. Even more if they do things that make them feel better about themselves (shopping, working out,..) things that improve their appearance and health. Keep a diary to vent. Diaries help sort out your feelings too. And you might even find that you can express yourself in a smart or eloquent kind of way.
But most importantly keep an eye out for someone who is attentive of you, who you are interested in.
