Not always. Sometimes the symptoms that you mentioned above can happen before you start your period. Even if it isn't typical for you to have the symptoms they can happen depending on how high your hormone levels are.
If you miss your period for more than 5 days, take a pregnancy test. If not then it typically isn't anything to worry about.
