Whatever address is on your driver's license or state ID is your permanent address. My license does have my cousin's address because that is the only permanent address I have. I would be building a home and returning back to my home state in about 5 months. In the mean while, I am temporarily living out of the state. I have lived in the state for 5 years now and will be briefly away (for about 5 months). Can I take insurance on my cousin's address with my name? Is that legal? You may use any address (relative's home, PO Box, drop box, etc.) as your mailing address as long as it is not being done to commit a crime and/or fraudlent act.

Using your cousin's address in your home state as your permanent address when you are living out of state temporarily may not be advisable as it could lead to complications with official documents, tax filings, and proof of residency. It's best to maintain accurate and current address information to avoid any issues in the future.

What does state of domiciled mean?

The correct term is state of domicile. There is also a Certificate of Domicile by State. Domicile simply means a permanent legal residence. A person can have multiple temporary residences but only one domicile. An example is a person who lives in New York most of the year: it's the place where he is registered to vote, where he receives mail, and where he renews his vehicle registration and license. Perhaps he also has a temporary or vacation residence in Florida or South Carolina. New York is his state of domicile or his domiciliary state. Florida or South Carolina is the state of his temporary residence.
