If you are taking methadone why would you fail a drug test for it?

Basics drug tests (5 panel ) don't test for it. Methadone its detectable by a expanded test which includes a few additional drug (12 panel for example).

∙ 14y agoThere are a lot of drugs that will give false positives for meth. You could have taken one of those. Accutrim, Dexatrim and Contac all will.

I actually read in several articles that doctors have to do a separate drug test for Methadone to detect it. Normally, they wont do this. They'll just check for the common drugs. So I think you should be okay... unless this place ends up asking for a drug test for Methadone since drug addicts are far more common these days. I'm not entirely sure how long it takes for Methadone to get out of your system, I know it can take quite a while due to its long half-life, but it depends on how long you've been taking it and how much you've been taking. If you've only taken one half of a Methadone one time, I'd give it at least a 4 days to a week before feeling confident.
