There is much debate about the claims by sauna companies that saunas will burn calories. As a fitness buff myself, I believe it is not true. Saunas make you sweat, therefore you may drop some weight -- water weight. Since you have sweat profusely, you need to rehydrate quickly. Hence, the weight comes right back. I know that people are constantly looking for a magic pill, potion, trick or anything else that can help them lose weight easily. The answer is that there isn't one. The key to success in permanent, healthy weight loss and maintenance is healthy eating and EXERCISE. Sorry, no way around it. You simply must burn more calories than you take in. The good news is that after you get over the difficult part (making the commitment and getting off the couch!) it gets easier and easier once it is a part of your new lifestyle.
