Well yes you are safe from the law, but your not exactly. Unless you remove all downloaded content from Limewire then technically you are still breaking the law by having illegal copies of media. Also if you have imported and music or files from limewire into another program, I suggest you get rid of these files as a little box will appear from limewire saying that some files are corrupt, although they are not, because limewire is not there. If these files are not deleted then limewire will corrupt your whole system as I found out last year. I ended up having to re-format. The safest thign to do is remove limewire and all file downloaded by it, no matter what program they're in.
LimeWire was shut down for violating copyright law.
I couldn't delete Limewire. Kept on getting a pop-up that said there was a problem. I uninstalled the program & still it remained. Anyhow i found how to rid it & it was quite simple. Restart your computer in safe mode( when it's booting up, keep pressing F8). Once in safe mode you can go to C/Program files/Limewire, then delete the folder. hope this helps ED
You have to go into your documents and into the limewire folder and delete it out of the "library or "download" folder
you have to delete it from the folder it was originally saved and installed to. hope this helps
No it's not it causes viruses on your computer and you would have to download the songs off the same computer or else the songs delete.
Yes. LimeWire can only share files while it is running.
Yes, it is pretty easy to do. Just uninstall it, then go to your documents and delete the "limewire" folder. If you want no remnants at all of it on your computer, go to your temporary files and delete anything that says limewire in it.
If LimeWire is not connecting the advice from LimeWIre is: 1. Delete all versions of LimeWire, and delete your preferences directory (/Users/username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire). Delete the "install limewire" receipt from the "Macintosh HD/Library/Receipts" folder. 2. Delete all LimeWire aliases and installers from your desktop and Dock. 3. Restart your computer. 4. Redownload LimeWire You may also need to configure your Firewall settings to allow LimeWire to connect through the Firewall.
Limewire itself is safe. However the files you download using it may not be.
Nope, you can get many viruses from limewire
To delete files from your LimeWire account, open the application and navigate to your shared files list. Select the file you wish to delete, right-click on it, and choose the option to remove or delete it. Additionally, you can go to the directory on your computer where LimeWire stores downloaded files and manually delete them from there. Remember to also update your shared files settings to ensure the file is no longer shared.
No matter what version of LimeWire, it is never 100% safe and still has files for download with viruses.
