Second answer: This is serious business. You really should check with a local lawyer - I think that Bankruptcy is governed by Federal law, but different states may have additional protections for their residents. As far as I know, you can get a car if you need one, as long as it isn't a Maserati or a Porsche, without looking as if you're abusing the bankruptcy code. (A finding of abuse will probably mean denial of bankruptcy relief).
