Yes, for any cell phone you have to pay for the data usage. Definitely get an unlimited plan, as the rates for data usage are expensive. Or if u want to unlock your iphone u dont have to pay for the internet as long as u have wifi in the place that u are in.

no, you dont. you can jailbreak your iphone and run it on tmobile's network, if you have a tmobile sim card. but on tmobile, you cant have 3g speeds, only 2g.
