- You are not aware that the person you're pregnant for is your first cousin. OR
- You are aware but choose to ignore that fact for whatever reason, and still proceed to have relations with your first cousin.
Cousin marriages, and the resulting families, have been common in many small or segregated ethnic groups and are not incest. That term describes sexual activity between siblings or between parent and child.
