If you had a choice to let your cats go free or euthanize them which one would be better?

If you mean to put them down, I would say to give them to an animal shelter. There are laws in some places that forbid an owner to let an animal go into the street, but I don't think you should put an animal down unless absolutely necessary (about to die, etc).
Another opinion:Don't just let the cat go to run wild. If they survive, they become pests. Cats are very prolific and males, in particular, can sire hundreds of babies every year, creating a serious problem. If you cannot provide or find appropriate shelter for your unwanted cat, do the rest of us (cats and humans) a favor and euthanize it. *And before anyone complains that I'm a cat hater, know this: I like cats just fine, I've owned many in my lifetime, and will probably own more in future, but I'm also a realist and believe that releasing domesticated animals to the wild is both stupid and cruel.*Wiki User
