Someone with autism spectrum disorder with a girlfriend? Really? And wants to get married? Are you sure he has autism spectrum disorder? ASD's most common characteristics are: difficulty with social skills, communicating, and interacting. All of those are needed for a romantic relationship. Most with ASD prefer alone time over hanging out with others. And generally speaking, most people don't understand the "quirkiness" and social oddness that those with ASD display, in addition to the tendency to be alone. But if he is capable of having a happy dating relationship with you, then he would also be capable of having a happy married relationship too!

∙ 8y agoAutistic people are as capable of having relationships and marrying as anyone else - the idea that this is surprising to people shows how much ignorance remains towards Autistic people. If you're at the stage of considering marriage then you should already know what to expect because you already know your boyfriend. As long as you understand how he expresses himself and you're happy to be with him then get married, and hopefully you'll have a long happy life together.
