You don't HAVE to.. I just went through this exact same situation. We decided to go ahead and deliver our baby to have our time to say goodbye to him. At this point in the pregnancy you have a fully formed baby not just a mass of cells inside of you.. The medical differences are that the a procedure such as a D&C or D&E will extract the baby out of you in pieces. Whereas if you deliver the baby you obviously have some closure by being able to say your goodbyes. I pulled one of our nurses aside and asked her to help me come to an informed decision. This is basically what she told me. This really helped me make my decision. In hindsight, I feel as though we made the best decision for us and our baby boy and I wouldn't of had it any other way.
I hope this helps you make this very very difficult decision and I give you my condolences.
Btw, I lost my baby boy at 17weeks 5days.

No. The pregnancy calendar is crazy!! A woman is actually two weeks pregnant when she actually has sex to conceive. So by the time she finds out she is pregnant (2 weeks later) she is actually four weeks pregnant technically. Most women will deliver around 40 weeks of pregnancy (which if you figure up is about 10 months!). Some women will deliver earlier while others will deliver later. If a woman goes too much past the due date, then the doctor will induce her.
not eating the right food for the fetus and taking medication while she pregnant.
