You tear the old roof off with one of those shovel looking thing that have teeth on the end. Remove the old felt paper and the nails and chingles. Then inspect the decking. Replace any decking that is rotten. Then put down new felt and flashing and replace shingles. Good luck.

Murphy's oil soap,, if you want to clean the entire deck, get a treated deck cleaner. Do not use a pressure washer on treated decking, let cleaner set a while (not dry up)read cleaner inst, and scrub with a deck brush, it will look better at the cost of shortening life span if you pressure wash it.
