If no soldiers were available - which is highly unlikely; if a war had reached that stage, it is probable that they would have been defeated already - it is possible that a draft could be established; however, most people would be against it, and so no politician would allow one to be formed.
the soldiers used steroids in order to make them feel strong and encourage them to run out on to the field even though they were going to die. the Russian's used cocain instead because it made them calmer and so less frantic.
First battle of bull run
There were masses of desertions on both sides - especially from the Confederates in the last weeks.
Confederate soldiers thought that they were fighting for the sovereignty of the Confederacy, and the right of white southerners to make their own choices and run their own lives (and the lives of their black slaves).
Women work in the professional environment today because so many men were drafted for WWII. There were no men left to run the factories, and women had to do the job. I can only guess to the hundreds of thousands that were drafted... Over 1,000,000 allied forces were involved in D-Day. If my grandma had to pay for sugar with Uncle Sam food stamps, you can bet your keister men were drafted. Hitler was going to conquer the world.
No, a person can't be drafted to run for the U.S. president. Drafted is really the wrong word. A person can be NOMINATED by his party and without his permission or against his will but he can't be made to accept the nomination. In fact if he is nominated and is actually elected he can refuse to accept the job. This has never happened and most probably never will.
yes

People move from one place to another because people run out of resources in one place so they have to move to another.
