My guess would be that you have incisors that are not straight and the crossing of wires will bring them into proper alignment as well as make them the same "length" in the mouth.

Can you have an MRI if you have wires on your teeth?

You should be allowed to have an MRI scan if you have wires on your teeth, such as fixed braces. However, if the braces are removable, then you may be asked to take them out before your scan. Contact your dentist or the MRI Unit where your appointment is to find out the exact regulations.

Can you have braces with a cavity?

Orthodontic braces do not 'cause' cavities. More than likely, inadequate oral hygiene caused the cavity. The problem with braces is that they can make oral hygiene more difficult. Depending on the specific case, the person usually has brackets, bands, and wires all over the teeth, making it difficult to adequately get the teeth clean. In addition to the usual brushing, it is recommended that a person in braces use additional methods to clean their teeth. Oral irrigation (Water Pik) and interproximal cleaners (Proxabrush) be helpful in keeping the teeth clean. In addition, daily fluoride rinses (ACT, Fluorigard) can be used to strengthen the tooth enamel and and make it more resistant to dental decay.

What do you call a person who applies braces on a patients teeth?

What is the importance of braces in dental treatment?

Are oral braces attracted to magnets?

No, orthodontists use special kinds of metals for the wires that do not attract magnets. These special metals also help to straighten your teeth quicker and significantly reduce the pain/soreness that braces tend to cause due to the movement of your teeth.

Is changing the wire on your braces considered tightening them?

That's what they did to me. They took my old wires of and got new ones and clipped them and then put them on my teeth. Yeah it's kinda the same thing
