If you leave your hair dye in longer than its supposed to be will you get darker results?

It would make your hair a different color than what it was supposed to be.

Is you're using a darker color, eventually the color will "shut itself off" and just quit working, so keeping it on the hair longer won't be harmful. Using a lighter color is a different story. As long as the lighter color doesn't dry out, it will keep working and may cause damage or breakage from over-lightening.
