I think a lot of it has to do with people really enjoying the feeling of being safe and warm inside. For me, I look outside and see how miserable it must be to be outside and how cozy it feels to be inside. The contrast between the two really drives that sleepiness feeling home for me.

I'm thirteen too. And sometimes I hang out outside of school, go to the mall, movies and sleepovers. But like you're not obliged too, you can still be really good friends but not hang out outside of school. The main purpose of hanging out is to have fun and get to know your friends better. Definitely, hanging out outside of school is good, but you don't have too.
