It is always harmful to damage your body. Even mild damage is more harmful than no damage. If you know a behavior doesn't help you in any way, and you do it at the cost of some damage, then you are hurting your body slightly. All people damage their body. Some damage is normal, everyday, wear and tear. This is the kind of damage that gets repaired while we sleep. Every time we exercise, we damage our muscles. It is the repaired muscles that grew new tissue while we slept each night last month that made our muscles strong. A little bit of the old tissue is torn up or worn out and discarded by the body every day. We do not consider this to be harmful or bad. When you damage the body faster than it can repair itself, you feel pain. Pain is a way nature has of warning you that you are taking too much damage too quickly. You can damage your body slowly for a long time before it will cease to function. Why would you want to do this? Even though it might take a long time to cause you very great pain, there is no particular value in damaging your body. If you can make a mental decision to avoid hurting yourself, then your body is better off for your decision. The average human body is supposedly composed of over 40 trillion small cells. This means that you are in charge of a very important kingdom. It is your job to see to it that all the "citizens" of your kingdom get enough food to eat every day. If they don't get enough food, they starve and die off. Your body will begin to make more when you feed it enough food again, but ask yourself, "What is wrong with feeding your body 'enough' food every day?" Too much is almost as unhealthy as too little, but at least the body knows how to put extra food into storage as fat. People with large amounts of fat are not considered attractive in our culture, but they often are in other cultures. It is really pretty arbitrary what people think looks "hot" and what isn't good looking or sexy. Not everybody can even agree on what a good looking guy or girl looks like. That is why there are so many different kinds of pictures of different people in the magazines. The publishers don't know what is beautiful any more than anybody else, they just hope enough people will like what they take pictures of to make money. Your body is a beautiful work of art. It is best if you can at least appreciate the kinds of things about your body that are helpful to you. It is not necessary to punish your body for not looking like somebody else, because you didn't have the same parents that they did. If you choose to damange your body, be as careful as you can about it. Stop damanging your body as soon as you can. You can always stop right away, but you might take a while to figure this out. That is what I mean. Stop as soon as you figure out that you don't really need or want to damage yourself any further. Once you stop damaging yourself faster than your body can heal, it will get better. If you get to the point where you really LIKE the way your body looks, you will probably never want to damage it ever again. There are so many people out there, that sooner or later, you will find somebody that likes the way YOU look. If that person is also nice to you, then you might want to stay with them for a while. It is always better to wait for somebody who likes the way you are and the way you look than somebody who is always complaining about you. It is harder to keep feeling good about yourself if you are around a complainer. You can always ask them to not complain about how you look when you are around. If you don't hear it, it doesn't have to bother you. If they don't respect you enough to agree to behave this way, then there is no rule that you have to keep hanging around with that person. Listening to unskillful verbal patterns over a long period of time can result in people wanting to damage themselves. This is not the other person's fault, it is YOUR responsibility. Better to take care of who you listen to though, so that you don't feel inclined to damage yourself. This way, you only have to learn how to take care of yourself and your children. Everybody else takes care of themselves. How somebody else looks is none of your business unless they specifically ask for your opinion. Even then, it is only YOUR opinion, and there are 6 billion other opinions available for the asking on our planet at the moment. Many of them are going to differ from yours by quite a bit. Take the best care of your kingdom that you know how. You have 40 trillion citizen cells working day and night to make your life good. They are all trusting you to do your job of leading the kingdom around in the world and provide the nutrients and air and water that they need to live a happy life. In return, you have a vehicle that will do your every bidding, and if you take good care of it, will last you many, many years, while providing you with very interesting and fun experiences. Peace be with you!

Nothing, but try not to let it happen again, as it can lead to bulimia. I promise you aren't bulimic because you threw up a few times on purpose and then stopped.
