If the sulfuric acid is concentrated, and the temperature is elevated, then the reaction is

4Zn(s) + 5H2SO4(aq) → 4ZnSO4(aq) + H2S(g) + 4H2O(l)

If the sulfuric acid is dilute, and the temperature is lower, then the reaction is

Zn(s) + H2SO4(aq) -> ZnSO4(aq) + H2(g)
