Speaking under WA law, yes. Any subcontractor who furnishes labor or materials can file a lien against any property that he works on. But the subcontractor is required to provide written notice to you before you pay the general contractor that he may claim a lien so you may make checks payable to both firms (RCW 60.04.031). Because state laws very greatly, I suggest you contact a construction law attorney in your area (look for one who gives "free consultations" --see the phone book).

Measure the area where you want to place your Outdoor Kitchen. If you have an idea of equipment that will be placed in your kitchen make note of those items in a drawing or sketch. Take you measurements to any Lowe's or Home Depot and they will put your measurements into their CAD software and help you complete a drawing of your Outdoor kitchen. Then you will need to check your local listings either by newspaper or telephone book and hire a contractor to perform the actual construction.

Every contractor needs a place to place their equipment. On a contractor's van, a place to store ladders and other large items is easily the roof rack. When one is installed, the person using it should think about what will be placed there. How many ladders are needed, and how will they be secured? Will you need a place to keep pipe, or materials for a frame? Try to make sure that everything that is placed up there can be secured and that nothing will be able to fly off at speed. If you keeping anything that you don't want to lose, it's also a good idea to have loops on the rack that you can lock some equipment on for security.
