Yes, it is. That is just another method of cutting. I used to do this myself along with a lot of other things. If you are doing this it would be very beneficial for you to a see a counselor or psychiatrist ASAP. It may be hard to talk about at first but it will bring you emotional healing later. Cutting ,if not being used for attention or to fit in a clique, is a sign of a deep emotional problem.
