Okazaki fragments are joined together by?

During DNA replication Okazaki fragments are joined together by DNA polymerase. Remember that Okazaki fragments start with an RNA primer so RNAse H is need to remove the primer follwed by DNA plymerase to add nucleotides and finally DNA ligase to seal the single strand nick.

Where do viruses make copies of their genetic information?

A virus is technically non living and cannot reproduce by itself. In order for a virus to reproduce, the virus attaches itself to a host cell and literally injects its own viral material into the cell. The virus then reproduces in the host cell and eventually breaks free and thus more viruses are made.

Do the smallest fragments in a gel electrophoresis end up on top or bottom?

Depending on where the died fragments start, the smallest parts end up way on the other side. The gel acts as a filter and the electrical current acts as... the current to push the fragments through the gel. Being that they're small... those fragments have an easier time getting through the gel. The bigger fragments are closer to where the fragments started cause they're big and have a harder time going through the gel. Eventually you should have like areas in the gel that look cool and CSI like, as if you were testing for DNA samples. Sadly that may not always happen, being as... well this is reality and not show biz. Good luck though on your next/first attempt.

When electrophoresis is completed how are the DNA fragments distributed?

Assuming you are using a gel, the fragments are distributed so that the smaller pieces move further away from the starting point, and the larger pieces are closer to the start. They also move according to the electrical charge they have, so negaitvie charged pieces will move further along the gel.

Why rna primer is used instead of dna primer?

There are basically two types of enzymes that can bind to DNA and copy it. The DNA polymerase and the RNA polymerase. The RNA polymerase, which copies DNA into RNA, will only bind to single stranded DNA, in other words areas of the DNA where the nitrogen bases holding the two strands of nucleotide units together have been separated. On the other hand the DNA polymerase that copies DNA into DNA will only bind to DNA that is double stranded. So in lies the dilemma. To make a copy of the DNA the DNA polymerase is use, but it will not bind to single stranded DNA so there is no way to make a DNA primer using aDNA polymerase, but the RNA polymerase will bind to single stranded DNA and there for can be used to make a small RNA primer on the open strands of DNA. Now the DNA polymerase has place that is double stranded and can attach and start copying the DNA.

Does papaya causes periods early?

No, papaya does not cause your periods to start early - just like green tea, it's one of these really bizarre myths that circulate around online. Your period starts when it is due to start according to your menstrual cycles, you can't speed-up your cycles or skip phases of your cycles to start your periods early. You can induce your periods if they are due or late, but nothing you eat will make your periods start early.

Technically, dogs do not have menstrual cycles - only primates menstruate. However, dogs do have estrus or heat cycles, and a female dog can start cycling at about 6 months of age.

How do scientists think earths orbit relates to an ice age?

Variations in the Earth's orbit around the sun are called Milankovitch cycles. Scientist do not believe that Milankovitch cycles can start or end an ice age. Each cycle runs a different length and the variations in the cycles reinforce their effects or cancel them.
