Try not to touch the kits unless certain situations require you to, and when you have to touch the kits, wash your hands, and try to cup them up in your hands, but don't squeeze them!
"kit" means keep in touch.
keep in touch
Don't touch the babies without gloves on, and if you don't have gloves, wash your hands and hold the kit in a cup position. The mother will probably continue to care for her kit if she knows you and is comfortable with you around.
If its mother is still alive then no. If it is orphaned then yes otherwise it will die. If you are going to feed the kit (baby rabbit) by hand while the mother is still alive be careful because the mother may kill the baby because it has your scent. Place the kit back into the nest and after a while your scent should disipate.
Keep In touch
Keep in Touch
A kit eats it's mother's milk. Did you know that even the strongest kit ever could not survive without it's mother feeding it?
keep in touch
Keep in touch!
K = keep, I= in, T = touch so in other words: KIT = keep in touch. I thought everyone knew that from yearbooks ... :)
keep in touch
First off you should never touch a wild kit (baby rabbit) if its mother is still alive. If the mother is dead then you may take the rabbit into your care. Considering that the kit has yet to open its eyes it is less than 10 days old, which is when they open their eyes. You can feed the kit by hand with a baby bottle and some kitten formula. You can also use a foster doe to feed the kit. For more information see the related link below.
