Yes you can get rabies from a WILD rat.But PET rats do not carry rabies because at the pet store, they receive rabies shots before they are put on sale. This is why you should never touch a wild rat if you ever encounter one. If you somehow get bit by a wild rat seek immediate medical attention as in going to the hospital to get a rabies shot. If a PET rat bites you do not worry because they WILL NOT carry this disease.
Fleas cause a lot of disease as well as itching, however, you can not get rabies from a flea bite. To acquire rabies, you have to consume or be bitten by something that is infected with the disease.
pervert why would you touch a dead rat!

kee rat is william
There are two base colors of rats, black and agouti. Agouti is the 'wild-type' rat, and it is designated with an A and is dominant. Black is the recessive form of agouti, and is designated with an a. So if you have a black rat, he is doubly recessive (aa). When you say 'white rat', I'm assuming you mean your rat is a pink-eyed-white or an albino. Rats can get this way in two different ways, either they are homozygous for albinism (cc) or they have so many other recessives that it washes out their color entirely. I am willing to bet it is an albino, as they are very common in pet stores. The problem with albinos is that when a rat is homozygous for albinism (cc), it makes them albino no matter what their other genes are. This rat could have all kinds of recessives hidden or it could have none. Since you bred your two rats and got both black and 'white' babies, I would say that your black rat carries the albino gene 'c' and your albino rat does not carry any recessives that your black rat has, except for black of course (a). So your albino rat is technically a black rat with two copies of the albino gene. I know it seems kind of confusing =) For more information about rat care including genetics please visit my website at http://careguide.evergreenrattery.com or feel free to email me at info@evergreenrattery.com . Good luck with your rats!
No rat is not herbivorous .it is omnivorous animal
a brown rat is a carnivore
If your dog had it's rabies shot then it is advised to just keep a eye on them. If the dog has not had it's rabies shot call the local vet.
Rats very commonly eat the skin of sole of the sleeping person. It is extremely rare to get rabies from rat bite.
I have the same problem my dog bit and killed an outside rat.. I don't know if the rat had rabies but i want to know if my dog can get rabies from biting it
yh
i dunno it might because it still comes from a rat
A rabies shot is only necessary if the rat is wild, otherwise a rabies shot isn't required. If you're bitten by a rat you might want to get that wound treated right away, even if it is domestic, they still carry gems.
Yes they can, so can you.
Not if you cook it very well.
not if u make him swallow a rat with rabies.
it might be rabies
Yes
Go to the emergency room and get a rabies shot.
