I assume that if a question is locked for answering by someone it is not available for another to use it.

Why can't WikiAnswers ever give you an answer you want?
WikiAnswers only gives you the truth of the question. Whether not it was the answer you were looking for or not. WikiAnswers tries it's best to give the best answers, and a lot of times, those answers are good ones. But, there are some flagged answers, that may say something inappropriate, and that is not what we are about. We are a Q and A site, trying to give the best answers we have. And we will try to give you the answers you want.

There are many good answers -- sometimes it depends on the question. Kids who are cutting-and-pasting questions from their assignments are not going to get good answers because they're cheating. People with good questions -- like this one -- get someone who thinks about their answer and tries to give you a good one. WikiAnswers tries hard to erase "troll" answers, which are nonsense answers written by people just trying to be annoying. Sometimes it takes time to find and erase all of them, so if you get a stupid answer, just erase it yourself and toss your question back out there. You can also contact a supervisor and ask for specific help with a question!

It is not a matter of if someone can. Of course, there are people who can write a story about someone who tries to steal the Cat in the Hat's hat. The real question is whether anyone will write the story for you and the answer to that is a resounding NO! If someone did that, they would be robbing you from the experience of using your own imagination and your own writing skills and style to create your own story. We simply will not do that.
