You may qualify for temporary disability or Worker's Compensation Benefits. Get a lawyer. Worker's Compensation lawyers don't charge you unless they win you money and then it is taken out of your payments. A Worker's Compensation attorney will tell you if they think you have a good chance of winning some money from Worker's Comp insurance. If your company does not have worker's comp insurance then I think they have to pay. Best thing to do is consult a Worker's Compensation attorney, it won't cost you anything to just consult them and they will give you sound advise and take your case if they think you have one. I didn't think I had a case because my job discourages reporting injuries and I did not report my injury right away. But the attorney told me he thought I had a case and I did. I now receive worker's compensation for a back injury I did at work and I need surgery. Also, make sure you see a doctor and have him determine your degree of disability. If you don't see a doctor or have a doctors report, you have no proof you are disabled. I lost some money because I had a lapse in doctor reports. You have to go every 45 days and even though I was disabled before and after according to Dr. reports, I lost money for the period I did not have one.
