I would politely say...........................................................WHAT THE HECK?! I asked for rare IDIOT...RARE!!!!!!! But honestly you should politely say I ordered a medium rare and have them take it back. Eat it. You don't want to seem high maintenance and ask the waiter to take it back. Plus, well done steak tastes better. But then again, if you were really looking forward to a rare steak, ask the waiter to take it back. As long as you do it nicely.
