If caught in a fast flowing river current you should swim parallel to the current and you should always go feet first so you know where you are going and your head does not crack open if you bump into anything

How is it used in determining the direction of the magnetic field around a conductor carrying current?

By using right hand rulee.. how?? let me explain.. first you should be knowing the direction of flow of current, then hold the current carrying conductor by your right hand in a way that your thumb points the direction of current flowing and curl your fingures around the conductor the manner your figures curl around condutor would determine the the magnetic field's direction that may be clockwise or anti-clockwise..thankkxx.

If you ever get caught in a rip current you should swim?

You should avoid them because they are dangerous. They are able to pull you into the ocean and tire you out.

How does the flow of current within the simple cell differ from that in a copper wire?

One terminal of a cell or battery is positive, while the other is negative. It is convenient to think of current as flowing from positive to negative. This is called conventional current. Current arrows in circuit diagrams always point in the conventional direction. However, you should be aware that this is the direction of flow for a positively-chargedparticle.In a copper wire, the charge carriers are electrons. Electrons are negatively-charged and therefore flow from negative to positive. This means that electron flow is opposite in direction to conventional current.

When capsized and floating on your back in a swift current in which direction should you point your feet?

Down current.

What is difference between a switch and a diode?

Both have two terminals, but a switch has a mechanical actuated element that closes the circuit. A diode does not have this. A diode blocks current flow when a reverse voltage (that is not too large) is applied to it, but when a forward direction voltage is applied current is allowed to flow; the cost is a small voltage drop across the diode. A switch doesn't care which direction current is flowing, and there should not be any voltage drop (ideally) in a switch.

How many flares are needed for truck emergency?

If on a roadway where traffic is flowing only in one direction, you should use at least three to the rear of the vehicle. If on a two-lane road, at least three in each direction.

What is the terminal voltage using the Kirchoff's law?

current flowing into the node are taken to be negative, and currents flowing out of the node are positive. It should not really matter which you choose to be the positive or negative current, as long as you stay consistent. However, it may be a good idea to find out the convention used in your schema

What is the current flowing to a 9.5kW instantaneous electric shower fed by a 240 volt supply?

40 amps The formula you should be using is I = W/E.

GFCI plug trips when fan is turned on?

The Ground Fault Current/Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) detects current flowing to ground that should instead be flowing in the fan. This means somewhere in the fan the Hot wire has an unintended path to ground and is a shock hazard. You should check the wiring to the fan (with power off) and make sure there are no bare wires that could be causing your problem and if you don't see anything obvious you should replace the fan.

What rule should you use in order to determine the direction of induced EMF in a coil?

The direction of an induced voltage is such that it always acts to oppose any change of current which causes it.So, for example, during the first quarter-cycle of a sine wave, when the current is increasing, the induced voltage acts oppose that change (increase) -in other words, it acts in the opposite direction to that current. During the second quarter-cycle of a sine wave, when the current is decreasing, the induced voltage again acts opposethat decrease that change (decrease) -in other words, it acts in the same direction to that current -trying to sustain that current.

Will a fuse work successfully connected in parallel?

Absolutely not. A fuse works by "monitoring" the current flowing in the circuit. Setting the fuse next to whatever it should be monitoring will do absolutely no good.

Is emf a scalar or vector quantity?

Emf has direction within a current loop, though it is not scalar. It's a bit between though as direction should be otherwise accounted for when discussing induced Emf. Not quite either.
