It isn't too late to negotiate an agreement. Most lawsuits never get to court, due to that reason. The creditor and debtor, along with a court mediator often manage to work out a deal.

Things that hurt your credit score?

Credit Scores are determined by credit history, so if you donot have a score it is worse then if you do have a low one. Age, length of residency, working, salry, payments made on time, late payments, name changes, address changes etc etc etc. Each credit company (and there are 3 main ones) will give you a free credit report by federal law yearly and a sheet of papers telling you how to improve your scores.

How can a co-signer with perfect credit help you get a mortgage loan when you have bad credit?

They sign the papers with you. Basically the lender understands that if you have bad credit, then they will depend on the co-signer to help you out. Otherwise the co-signer will soon have bad credit also.

How soon after you purchase a car can you purchase a home?

How quickly can you sign your name? There's no time limit imposed on purchases based on other purchases. If your credit is marginal, you may have difficulty obtaining a loan, but in general as long as your credit is good and you have sufficient income to make both the house and car payments, you could hop in your new car and drive directly over to sign the house papers.
