If there is a switch below the window controls on the drivers side door, flick it, that would be the override safety switch. It's labeled window lock.

Ok...96 Explorer, pull the cover in the rear cargo area of your truck, the jack is stowed there...you will see a plastic module tucked away in this area closest to the rear seat, that is the remote acess/alarm module, if you ease the plastic open a bit by hand you can use a flashlight to see the 5 digit acess code printed on it
