If your AC works fine then stops and later starts working fine again and the system is full is there some switch that needs to be replaced?

Sounds like your theft deterent system is engaged; for that you will need to go to the dealer (tow car to dealer). My 1996 had the same problem. They will have to replace the module in the dash or re-work it.

I had the same problem with the same year car. I've replaced the resistor several times. It works for months & then it stops working again. I think this is the 4th time I replaced the resistor, it is working okay now. I think it is a defect in with this cars fan system. I had a similar problem with my 2001 Sebring Convertible.
