You need to mimick him. It is called the mirroring act. If he is sad, YOU are sad as well. This will get him to ask you, IF he truly cares about you, why you are sad. and then innocently say,
"Im upset, because you are..."
OR..
"Im sad, because you are mad.."
This will usually get him to say, Im just mad because....blah blah blah, you dont need to be mad too.
If he doesnt open up right away, say...
"I just, Im upset that you wont tell me why you are...it hurts me to see you hurt."
This will forsure get him to open up!:)
