That "brown" mouse is actually called Agouti, and your babies will all stay that colour. It is a dominant colour trait, and is honestly a beautiful colour if you are aware of what it is. Agouti isn't actually a colour in and of itself, but rather a pattern. It means that the colour on each individual hair shaft is striped. Typically it's a brown fawn stripe, but it can be a number of different colours. Most any coated animal can come in an agouti pattern. Even one of my dogs (a Havanese) is Agouti. Each of her long hairs is striped blonde and white... which gives her a golden creamy appearance over-all. Many wild animals retain their agouti colour pattern, but the further and further generations that are bred as pets, the closer we come to losing the pattern forever.
As a species, koalas are grey, rather than brown.Koalas have woolly light to dark grey fur with brown and white patches and a cream belly. Mature males have a brown stain on their chest, the result of a gland which produces an orange coloured discharge. This is used to mark the trees the male climbs (and attract females) by rubbing this gland against the base of the tree and the trunk. Southern koalas tend to have fur that is darker and tending more towards brown than that of koalas found in the northern parts of Australia.
