If your period is two months late what is the chance of a false negative?

Very little. By this time, tests should be picking up hcg quite easily. I'd pay a visit to the doctor to discuss it, especially if you can see no other reason for a late period such as stress, new medication or similar.

I'd suspect that she's actually pregnate and tat the negative readings were false.

No you can't be pregnant and still have your period. You can have a light bleed but not a period. As for the whole negative test thing, it could be a false negative.

If your pregnancy test is positive then most likely you are. You would be more likely to get a false negative rather than a false positive. If you are unsure, you can request a beta HCG test from your doctor. This will measure the HCG hormone in your blood system which is an indicator of pregnancy. The pregnancy test is positive and you haven't had a period in two months. I see nothing to indicate that this is a 'phantom' pregnancy other than maybe wishful thinking. I've been told that the home test kits may give a false negative, but that they never indicate a false positive.

The testers are not perfect. You can get a false negative or a false positive. See your doctor to get a correct diagnosis.

Why are you not having a period in 5 months?
If you got it once and not again for 5 months, it was a false alarm or your pregnant. If you haven't even started, JUST WAIT YOU NIMNOM!
