Had a similar problem while installing an engine I didn't remove. Go to the junk yard and take lots of pictures.
check on www.autozone .com under repairs they cover up to 1999 you dont say what year
It is important to know the cost of replacing parts or making repairs on a car. For a 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue it should cost between $90 and $200 for a person to replace the alternator on their own.
I would appreciate an answer to this question asap!
Yes, and it hurts. There is not much you can do about it but if you are really upset, then why not try bringing it somewhere for repairs.
What! Insurance pays for financial losses. I don't understand your question.
Buy a Chilton Book... It has alot of A/C pictures and schematics... It will also help with future repairs...
Your question makes no sense at all, at least not in the Check Engine Light category which you posted it in.

You didn't say what engine model or carburetor you have, but you can go to http://outdoorpowerinfo.com/repairs/ and see if any of the pictures there look like yours.
How "handy" are you? An older vehicle will require more attention and if you have to pay a mechanic it will be costly. An Oldsmobile is a good vehicle and relatively reliable, but like all vehicles it's performance will depend on how it has been maintained. Check it out thoroughly before you buy and if there aren't any indicators of abuse, and if you can take care of minor repairs yourself, go for it.
