She doesn't feel the same as you. It was a mismatch of intentions, I suppose, and she didn't want to tell you that she only wanted you as a friend. If she had felt the same, your relationship would have continued--you didn't do anything wrong. You just expressed what you felt, which isn't bad, just that you didn't recognize that the feelings were not reciprocated before you told her.
