Why not just talk to her, and see what happens? You say you are not sure if you like her; how will you know if you don't at least talk to her? You say you are not very popular, even if you don't 'like' this girl, why can you not just be friends? You may see your popularity improve; who knows. You will not know anything if you don't talk to her first.
