The company is no longer emphasing brand name but as you say, "Company Name." In 2010 P&G's new strategy became to focus more on Corporate Branding in order to drive growth. The company wants to introduce a large number of new products and add to it's customer base (one billionth consumer by 2015). In regard to specific categories, they also use the multi-brand startegy. Point is they realize the need to emphasize the company as a brand in order to reach all stakeholders.
Hollister was started when this guy was in love with this girl! and they went to the mountains and they seen a star and named it hollister. then one day the guy died and the gurl was very famous and told her daughter to make a clothing stor calle Hollister. Liz Claiborne has become a reliable brand to many because there are plenty of people who enjoy the fashion style. Many see the brand as a trustworthy and known brand, but to start out, it wasn't so. However, with the right marketing strategies through the years, it was only a matter of time before they became a front-runner company.

The DC in DC Shoes originally stood for Droors Clothing, but now is just part of the brand with no ties to the original meaning. Before the company was DC shoes, they used to be Droors Clothing Footwear.
