Only adult male Athenian citizens who had completed their military training had the right to vote in Athens. This was only 10-20% of the population, the remainder of the residents being slaves, freed slaves, children, women and Metics (foreign residents in Athens). Women had limited rights and privileges and were barely considered citizens; they had restricted movement in public and were very segregated from the men.

How do you get Residency of Ukraine for us citizen?

I am a US citizen and permanent resident of Ukraine. Usually, the foreign citizen must marry a Ukrainian citizen and reside in the country. After two years of marriage, an application for residency can be made at the district OVIR office. This gives most of the benefits of citizenship, except voting rights. It also obviates the need to repeatedly obtain Ukrainian visas.

unless you or your parents are omani/born in oman you will almost certainly not get citizenship. even if you have omani blood you are not guaranteed citizenship. woman can marry omani man and become citizen but it can be revoked on death of husband or divorce. man canot get citizenship by marriage. oman, like the other gulf states, dont want foreigners coming in and getting the benefits of citizenship which are very substantial.

Besides Native Americans all American citizens obtained their citizenship by?

The Majority of Americans receive their United States citizenship by birth, the rest acquire theirs through Naturalization. In that immigrants from foreign countries can obtain citizenship after residing in the United States legally for a given period of time, (the length of time required for residency has changed periodically by Acts of Congress). They then apply and after an investigation of the immigrant by the State Department are granted citizenship in a Formal ceremony. Although there is no requirement for a legal permanent resident alien to acquire Unites States Citizenship there are certain Tax and Political benefits for doing so, and are encouraged by the Department of State.

Does marrying a Canadian citizen grant you citizenship?

Marrying a Canadian citizenship does not automatically make you a Canadian citizen. You would still have to go through the entire process that an unmarried "Alien" would have to go through. That is, apply and obtain Permanent Residency (PR) and then go through the Citizenship Application. Ref: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/faq/citizenship/cit-become-faq03.asp

Who invented citizenship?

Citizenship wasn't 'invented'. Already in Ancient Greece states found it useful or even necessary to draw a distinction between those who belonged fully to a state (with all the privileges of membership), those who belonged (but without all the benefits of membership) and foreigners. Over the centuries the concept of citizenship has developed and now usually implies active membership. Degrees of citizenship ('first' and 'second' class citizens) are deplored. Joncey
