Christians believe in The Bible, God's word to man. In the bible we are taught that Christ resurrected from the dead and there were more than 500 witnesses to this fact. At the time the New Testament was written many of these persons were yet alive who had seen the risen Christ. Jesus Christ died for mankind's sin and God (the Father) raised Him from the dead three days later. This signified that God the father accepted Jesus' atoning death as a payment for the sins of the world. If Christ has risen from the dead then all who believe on His name will be resurrected on that resurrection day.
