The reason it does that is because a zero at the beginning of a value has no effect so is not required. The value 000015 is just 15, so the zeroes are dropped. The only time you start with a zero and want it is for things that are not for calculation, such as phone numbers or codes. So the way to do it is to get Excel not to treat what you are typing in as a number, but as text. You do this by typing the single quote before the number like this:
'000015
Then it will treat it as text and leave the zeroes there but won't show the single quote. You can also first format the cell(s) you want to be text and then enter the values.

To disable the autocapitalization feature in Excel for names of days, you can go to the File menu, select Options, choose Proofing, and click on AutoCorrect Options. From there, you can uncheck the option that says "Capitalize the first letter of sentences" which should prevent Excel from automatically capitalizing the first letter in names of days.
If you want to know the logarithm of each individual number, type =LOG(A1), or whatever the first cell happens to be, for the first cell in the column of numbers, and then copy this cell downwards; Excel will automatically change the cell number to be relevant. If you want to know the logarithm of the sum of all numbers in a column, type =SUM(A1:A5), or the relevant ends of your range, in an empty cell and then =LOG(B6), or whatever the label of that cell was.
Excel shotguns were made by Crescent, Crescent-Davis, Iver Johnson, and J. Stevens. If it was made by one of the first two, the number probably isn't a true serial number and the exact age cannot be determined. There are a couple of experts who MIGHT be able to place one of the other two into a range of +/- 5 years.

Automatically stores a number that is one greater than the last number used. It is used to identify a record by acting as a Primary Key. A Primary Key is unique and cannot be left blank. Even if a number is deleted, that number will never be used again, ensuring that each record can be uniquely identified. You do not have to enter the value. It will automatically enter itself. You also cannot change it.
