What could you possibly be asking?

If the asset was sold during bankruptcy to pay creditors and your debts, its gone. Owned by someone else. That's how your debts get paid. Your assets are used. If there aren't enough assets to liquidate and pay your debts, some of the debts may be forgiven. But not always.

Under any circumstances, to get a title to something owned by someone else, you buy it from them. Bankruptcy does not get you things.

Yes you can but the title will say salvage. A salvage title in Illinois means it has been stolen or wrecked and has not yet been inspected or otherwise cleared by the state. You cannot drive or as a private party, own a salvage vehicle. If you do own one, you must contact a Illinois Secretary of State Police Vehicle Inspection Station to start the process to obtain a rebuilt title.

What happens to a vehicle when the title is held by two persons who are not married and one person files bankruptcy?

Vehicles are considered secured property and the debt is not dischargeable in bankruptcy action. The situation cited would not place the vehicle in jeopardy depending upon the way the vehicle title is worded and the exemption status. In such a case it is highly unlikely the bankruptcy trustee would order the vehicle sold. That being the case any decision concerning the vehicle would belong to the lender not the bankruptcy court.

Can you file bankruptcy on a car title loan?

Sure, then the bank will come back and get the vehicle and send it to the auto auction to get as much of their money as they can. Bankruptcy only applies to unsecured loans. The vehicle loan is secured by the title of the vehicle. If you don't pay, see how long it takes the bank to inform you that the vehicle is now theirs.

How do you obtain title with no vin?

Every vehicle has a VIN attached somewhere to it ... the engine block, in the top of the dashboard, in a door pillar. If the VIN has been removed from a vehicle, chances are that is stolen property and should be avoided like the plague. If you are trying to obtain the title without the vehicle and don't have the VIN this just doesn't make sense. What is meant here is that if a person bought a vehicle and wants to get a new title issued, then they most likely have the vehicle and can obtain it easily.

How do you get a title from the bank if your you have been discharged from a chapter 11 but you can't get the title from the bank?

Real property such as a vehicle or house is not dischargeable in bankruptcy. The debt must be reaffirmed, paid or satisfied or the property forfeited to the lender. That being the case, the person would not be entitled to a clear vehicle or land title from the lender simply because the debt was included in bankruptcy.
