There is no "Iroquois language". Each tribe of the Iroquois League spoke its own individual language (Oneida, Seneca, Onondaga, Cayuga and Mohawk). These are all related but individual languages, each with its own words for a chief.
In Oneida the word for a chief is -hsʌnowanʌ- or thuwakwa·nʌ́ or -atlutanuˀn-
In Cayuga a chief is hadigowanęs or hodiyanehsǫ or hoyaneh
In Tuscarora (a later addition to the Iroquois League) a chief is rahgawahneh.
