In japanese, Kara means several things. it means smile, crow/raven, and could mean sunshine or happiness.Kara is the particle "from".----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------i left the previous answer above.but i would like to mention one way i am being taught to use から (kara) it can be used to join two sentences with because. for example:sushi is Deliciousすしがおいしいです。sushi ga oishii desuI like sushi

すしが好きです。

sushi ga ski desuthese 2 sentences can convert to something like this:i like sushi because it is delicious.すしがおいしくて　から　すしが好きですsushi ga oishikute kara sushi ga suki desuThat was a very simple example, note the use of te form in the word "Delicious"you are not required to write sushi again in the second sentence but i did so to make it easier to understand.
