Thus, the people who dubbed and edited Sailor Moon for Americans cut our loads of scenes tried to turn what was supposed to be a show for teen girls into a show for little kids.

They were kicked out of Crystal Tokyo by Neo Queen Serenity and followed Chibiusa/Rini to earth in the 20th century (and the Black Moon Clan are from the 30th century) and tried to kill the young girl and take the silver crystal. Rini/Chibiusa came to the earth looking for the silver crystal to save her mom, or, Usagi/Serena.
